8 week class: Saturdays from 10am to Noon
September 23rd to Nov 11.
This course is a brief introduction to drawing the human form. We will explore traditional materials, techniques, and fundamental principles of drawing as we develop a greater understanding of the human figure. Technical anatomical issues are not the primary focus of this course but we will develop a basic understanding of the underlying skeletal structure and how this affects observable surface anatomy. Our practical study will be supplemented with some discussion of how Master artists throughout history have approached different figure drawing problems.
This is a non-credit class open to the public. It will be held at Northeastern Illinois University's main campus:
5500 North St. Louis Avenue
