You’ve heard it’s a good idea to incorporate, and you are doing good work for others. But what kind of business should you set up and what are the basic differences between a for-profit and not-for-profit business? What does it mean to have a “social purpose” and become tax-exempt?
Jan Feldman, LCA’s Executive Director, leads LCA’s Nonprofit and Tax Exemption Workshop, now running 5x a year for more than 10 years. Jan will lead a discussion about basic corporate forms, sound business practices, and the benefits and burdens of nonprofit status, among other topics. With more than 35 years of nonprofit fundraising and arts board membership, all the while practicing as a commercial litigator, Jan has valuable advice about issues you should be aware of as you move into the “corporate” world.
This event is free and open to the public, but you need to register to hold your seat.
