We are seeking an energetic, motivated and team-oriented Costume Coordinator to work part-time position at the Northbrook Theatre.
Qualifications: Degree in Costuming from an accredited college or university or significant (5+ years) in a similar position. Stitching and costume construction skills. Knowledge of makeup and hair dressing desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office desirable. Interest in Children’s Theatre. Strong communication skills; excellent organizational/time management and budgeting skills; commitment to collegiality; commitment to working with both professional adult actors and child performers.Candidate must also possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Must be accommodating and adaptable, with excellent team-building and customer service capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assists the Costume Designer with the execution of all costumes for all Performing Arts Theatrical productions, manages the costume shop, ensures cleanliness and organization of costumes. Responsible for all costumes during production run, working backstage during tech/dress rehearsals and productions to assist actors with costumes and coordinate quick changes, and ensuring all costume pieces are returned and prepped for the next performance.
