Carol Fox and Associates is a Chicago-based marketing and public relations agency specializing in arts, entertainment and lifestyle clientele. The company’s environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a client roster that boasts many of the city’s best known attractions and cultural institutions. We are currently seeking a Marketing and PR Account Executive.

Skills & Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will have a college degree in a relevant field, such as art history, public relations or journalism, 3-5 years of marketing and public relations experience, the ability to multi-task and an enthusiastic personality. Google AdWords certification and a passion for the arts is a plus.

• Writing marketing plans
• Maintaining marketing and advertising budgets
• Creating, negotiating and executing ad plans to include internet, print, broadcast and out of home media
• Overseeing clients’ social media presence and collaborating with team members to maintain
• Creating and implementing email marketing campaigns
• Developing promotions
• Overseeing graphic designers, programmers and printers
• Monitoring advertising artwork deadlines and submitting marketing assets to media outlets
• Developing and executing strategies to build fans/followers and increase website visitors with the ultimate goal of developing audiences and driving ticket sales for client events
• Interacting with clients on a consistent basis
• Writing press releases, media advisories, public relations plans and activities reports
• Planning public relations campaigns, including developing strategies and media events
• Pitching and securing placements in major newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows and websites
• Posting online via social media sites
• Building social media presence via a variety of platforms
• Compiling summary reports
• Staffing meetings, photo and video shoots and interviews
• Interacting with clients on a consistent basis
• Coordinating conference calls
• Staffing client events on evenings and weekends, as needed

Required Skills
• Excellent writing, math and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in Excel, Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels for awareness building, audience development and driving ticket sales/event attendance
• Media buying experience
• Knowledge of basic graphic design software
• Familiarity with email marketing systems (such as MailChimp or Constant Contact)
• Experience with Google AdWords and Analytics and Facebook Advertising and Insights
• A strong knowledge of the Chicago media, with working relationships with many of the area’s top arts critics and writers preferred
• The flexibility to work frequent weekends, early mornings or evenings as required
